Music, imagery, and vocals from one the most potent of horror movies, Leroy Russell Junior, more widely known as Tommy Lee Sparta, thrills his fans with gore. Lyrically and melodically on-point, this single records a stomach churning illustration of the demise of a talkative, jerry curled, bubbles and bead wearing adversary.
The April 6, 2020 music video release is another celebrated work of directed Everton Gentles and the Pixel Edge Studio. The song, first released in December 2019, was produced by Wise Choice Records on the Megaball Riddim, and distributed by Johnny Wonder.
Not for the faint of heart or easily frightened, this song delves deep into a crime scene of the goriest proportions. The “Blessings” deejay employs a raft of literary devices to stimulate the audience in a truly frightening work of art. Though comprising of a modern day dancehall melody, the stems were so strategically arranged to result in a music so portentous, it is befitting of a blockbuster horror movie. The “Spartan Soldier” deejay would have done the melodies justice with highly charged and descriptive reference to one of the most gruesome capitulations. “Wid him head back gone, toe gone, body bag, road block, chop chop, him head mad…”
Following up on his recent releases Hard Ears and Timing, the former Gaza Empire dancehall artiste provides entertainment of a grisly nature in Shallow Grave.
